Rachael Wood

Professional Counselor Associate

I am a Professional Counselor Associate working toward full licensure. I grew up in Mississippi and moved to Oregon just before high school. My interest in helping others began during my high school years, when my parents became foster parents. Through my family’s experience, I witnessed the challenges that children and families face and saw firsthand how helpful counseling can be. These experiences shaped my desire to walk alongside others as they navigate difficult seasons of life.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, baking, gardening, and spending time with friends and family. I value the opportunity to connect with others both personally and professionally and feel grateful to be part of the communities I serve.

Rachael's Approach

Experiences shape our identities, thoughts, and behaviors. This is why it is helpful to have an empathetic, safe space to express yourself and tell your story. You are the expert in your own life and with the help of counseling, we can improve your skills and recognize ineffective patterns. I take a strengths-based approach rooted in attachment theory, cognitive-behavioral techniques, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness practices, however, I tailor my approach to best meet the needs of each client.
