Peter Laughlin
Professional Counselor Associate
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I have a great love for the natural beauty of Oregon, which I try to encounter through hiking, camping, or being near the water. I appreciate novel experiences, so in my free time I like to explore to new hobbies, travel, try new recipes, or look into book, movie, or video game recommendations.
I want to help my clients to be in control of their treatment, to experience ownership over their lives, and to develop their self-efficacy so that they thrive.
Peter's Approach
I work with individuals on a wide array of mental and behavioral health issues, including depression, anxiety, and trauma related concerns. I believe that our mental health issues develop over our lifetime through an interplay of internal biological, cognitive, and emotional factors and external environmental factors. As such, I do not believe in cookie cutter approaches to treatment. Instead, I learn my clients’ stories and utilize evidence-based interventions to address their particular needs and goals.
