Telehealth Therapists
Shirah Canaga, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Director of TeleHealth
I’m a wife and mama of two little children. I value the struggles and joys of motherhood. I’m a Christian who loves my relationship with Jesus and other people. Putting my faith in Jesus has changed my life. However, I do welcome all people from different walks of life and religions. I have been working in the counseling field since 2018 and I look forward to working with my clients everyday. Helping people and impacting lives is an incredible job. I’m blessed to be able to serve my clients.
Shirah’s Approach
My approach to therapy is eclectic, trauma-informed, and client-centered. I work with adults, children, and couples, and I am especially passionate about supporting maternal and postpartum mental health. I tailor each session to the individual, drawing from a wide range of therapeutic tools to best meet each client’s unique needs and goals.
As an EMDR-certified therapist, I integrate trauma-focused and person-centered approaches to help clients process difficult experiences and move toward meaningful change. I believe that healing happens when individuals gain greater awareness of their needs, choices, and patterns, allowing them to find more balance within themselves and their relationships.
I also provide psychoeducation on the brain, limbic system, and nervous system, incorporating polyvagal theory, IFS, and EMDR interventions to help clients better understand how their nervous system impacts emotions, behaviors, and relationships.
