Mike Hartsfield
Professional Counselor Associate
My name is Mike Hartsfield, and I am a Professional Counselor Associate working toward licensure. I have lived in the Pacific Northwest my entire life and feel grateful to call it home. Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with friends, cooking, traveling, and discovering new places to explore outdoors. I believe life is beautiful when we have people to share it with, and I value the meaningful connections we build along the way.
Mike's Approach
At times we can feel stuck in life and unsure how to move forward. When we experience safety, acceptance, and connection, we can begin to explore our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs in ways that create space for healing and growth.
My approach to therapy is grounded in Person-Centered Counseling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and a Polyvagal-Informed Perspective. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and that therapy should be a place where you can tell your story, feel heard, and be met without judgment. My role is to walk alongside you, help you better understand yourself, and support you in moving toward the life and relationships that matter to you.
I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which can be helpful in working through traumatic events and other difficult experiences that may continue to affect the way we think, feel, and respond in the present.
More About Mike Hartsfield
Experience
For the past two years, I have had the privilege of serving locally with CAFA, first as an intern and then as a Professional Counselor Associate working toward licensure. During this time, I have worked with adults experiencing a variety of concerns, including anxiety, grief, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. I have also had the opportunity to work with couples and individuals navigating relationship challenges.
These experiences have deepened my appreciation for the uniqueness of each person's story and the importance of creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and genuine connection.
