Salem Therapists
Cynthia Shaver
LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Director Salem
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon (License C7440) and currently serve as the Clinical Director for Arise Counseling Services in Salem. I am grateful and excited to support both our team and the individuals, couples, and families we serve.
I work with clients ages 14 and older and strive to create a welcoming, affirming, and supportive environment. I am LGBTQ+ affirming, and alternative lifestyles are welcome. I am committed to offering care that respects and honors every client’s identity and lived experience.
Cynthia's Approach
My work is guided by Emotionally Focused Therapy, an attachment-based approach that helps clients understand their emotional patterns, relational needs, and the experiences that shape their lives.
I believe healing involves the integration of mind, body, and spirit, and I tailor therapy to support growth, resilience, and meaningful change. When appropriate, I incorporate EMDR to address trauma and unresolved emotional experiences.
I also bring previous professional training and experience in ketamine-assisted and psilocybin-assisted therapies. While I do not currently offer these services through Arise, my background in these modalities informs my understanding of integrative and trauma-responsive approaches to healing.
I welcome and honor all clients’ spiritual and/or religious practices and will integrate them into therapy at the request of my clients.
