Sierra Preston-Thompson
Professional Counselor Associate
Hello, my name is Sierra! I have always had a passion for mental health, helping others, and supporting them in living a more fulfilling life. My interest in this started when I took my first psychology course in high school, and I have been pursuing a career in it ever since! Humor is something I strongly value and incorporate into all aspects of my life. Currently, I enjoy reading fantasy novels, attending concerts, spending time with my corgi and friends, listening to music and podcasts, and playing video games.
Sierra's Approach
I utilize an eclectic approach with a foundation in Person-Centered therapy. I recognize that every client has their own unique needs/wants and I believe in tailoring an approach to each individual. Through counseling, we will work together to meet your goals, keep a safe space, and promote wellness. I utilize interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Psychodynamic Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy (BSFT), Narrative Therapy, Strengths-Based, and Humanistic/Person-Centered Therapy (PCT).
