Haleigh Lopes
Professional Counselor Associate
I am a professional counselor associate working toward full licensure. I grew up in Northern California and moved to Eugene to attend the University of Oregon. Growing up I played volleyball and softball and value the collaboration, connection, and growth involved with being on a team. I now enjoy going for hikes in my free time as Oregon has so much beautiful nature to explore. I became interested in psychology at a young age and was drawn to the opportunity of supporting and walking alongside individuals on their journey. With this, I feel passionate about creating a space where people feel seen, heard, and validated in their feelings and experiences of the world. I strongly believe in the therapeutic alliance being the most important aspect in the counseling process and aim to foster that through rapport-building.
Haleigh's Approach
My counseling approach is trauma-informed and person-centered. I believe in meeting each individual where they are in their journey and that approaching counseling will look different for every client. As a counselor, I commonly use evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Motivational Interviewing. I have an interest in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and will utilize an IFS-informed approach as well.
